Our President – Karly Leyde Karly Leyde, President of Happy Thoughts, began coordinating events professionally in 2001 through her work for the Advertising Sales Department of KOMO 4 Television in Seattle. Organizing celebrations acknowledging sales goals achieved, events for clients to meet television celebrities, baby showers, bridal brunches, birthday surprises, and retirement gatherings, Karly began to see that by combining her project management skills, attention to detail, and creativity, she could design events that were energized, elegant, and seemingly effortless. From KOMO 4, Karly took her experience to Rowley Properties in Issaquah where she planned community gatherings, political fundraisers, and holiday celebrations, and helped coordinate holiday gifts. She started Happy Thoughts in 2005. She has presented her “Presto, It’s Not Magic” presentation on event planning to the Jumpstart Conference for the Public Relations Society of America and has been a repeat guest lecturer at her alma mater, University of Puget Sound, on the topics of marketing and business leadership. Karly and her husband Brian, a CPA, live on Lopez Island and enjoy time with family and friends, travel, tennis, and great walks. With time and financial giving, Karly and Brian passionately support Food Lifeline, Children’s Hospital & Regional Medical Center, Prosthetics Outreach Foundation, Young Life, and causes to fight cancer. One of Karly’s favorite endeavors was walking 26.2 miles to fight breast cancer. |
